The National Demonstration Center for Experimental Mechanics Education, used to be the Mechanics of Materials Laboratory of Jiaotong University, was relocated with the university from Shanghai to Xi’an as the experimental base for mechanics education, and is the key construction research center appointed in “Project 211” and “Project 985”. It mainly provides basic mechanics courses including theoretical mechanics, mechanics of materials, engineering mechanics, fundamentals of mechanical engineering to undergraduates from different disciplines (mechanics, materials, electricity, civil engineering, management, economics, humanities, etc.), offering engineering mechanics, flight design and other professional courses to engineering undergraduates, and undertaking theories and experiments teaching of mechanics courses to all undergraduates and postgraduates.
